Local move from Kernersville, NC to Winston Salem, NC

Movers who do not care.

Where to start…..
This company should be out of business soon enough, due to their disgraceful business practices. I was in constant contact with Amber Lynn Trudeau office and Joseph Anthony Senior Moving Consultant throughout the planning stages of my move. I questioned as to why no one would be visiting my home to assess the quantity of items to be moved and was informed by Joseph that it was not necessary as he could establish my moving needs via phone as he would be asking applicable questions that would determine the truck size and man power needed. Joseph determined that this move needed 3 men and one truck, I questioned this but he was resolute in his assessment. As we continued packing I again questioned the truck size and made many attempts to contact them on the phone only to be connected with voicemail; to which I left messages each time. I then sent emails as follow-ups.
ME: Just left a VM, following up with this email.
Looking over my emails I realize that I did not receive a final email/contract with the final changes made to my moving schedule and want to verify times, dates and needed men and equipment.

Hello and good morning!! I just wanted to let you know that I have received your e-mail and have noted in your file the details within. Thanks so much for keeping us up to date!! Have a wonderful day.
Thanks,
Amber Trudeau

On the morning of the move out they arrived in a 26 foot box truck with 3 men and straightaway asked for $400.00 to get started; in a money order because their credit card service was down, this was not what we had agreed to and I was not going to get a money order as I did not have the money in my checking at that time. The lead mover assessed that they would be able to get all on the truck. Some hours later he advised me that they could not load many of my items as they were considered hazardous; paint, pesticides, lawn fertilizer, gas powered equipment, propane gas…..These items encompassed a large part of my outdoor belongings. When I asked the mover why I had not been informed of this they said it is known in the industry. I was then informed that not all my remaining Items would not fit in the truck and that I would have to pay for another truck. Joseph showed up; with an attitude, and tried to back step his original assessment as being my fault. It was decided that they would finish loading and return to retrieve remaining items the next afternoon once the truck was offloaded at my new home at 4:30. The truck did not arrive till 7:30 and the driver informed me that he was told to not unload until he received full payment; basically holding my belongings hostage, in the form of a money order as their credit card system was still down. My original quote was for $800.00 and I was now being extorted for over $1400.00. By the time they offloaded and drove back to retrieve my remaining items and offloaded the second it was now 1:30 in the morning. Primary Moving & Storage operates more like a group of thugs. It is a very poorly run business with atrocious customer service. Moving into a new home is stressful enough without having to deal with such incompetence.

Horrible.

I chose this company over a lot of others due to the reassurance that was given to me on the time sensitivity of my move, etc. I wanted to have things moved from my home by a certain time in the morning. To help the move go faster I was urged to hire a third man instead of just the two that I needed. I knew that I would need a large truck as I was moving my entire home with some outside items. The movers arrived at the time I was needing to be finishing up my move. This being said, I no longer needed a third man due to the fact that I had already missed the time that I was needing to be out by. The reason for the extra hand was to ensure that the move was handled within that time. The movers also pulled up in a small UHAUL truck. A truck that not even two rooms of my home would fit in. They almost took out my deck along with my storage building. I understand that the minimum is 4 hours. A move that was quoted to me with a third man to take 3 hours took almost 8. I was prepared to pay for 4 hours although I was quoted the move would take just 3 hours. They promised to bring wrap, boxes, packing, etc. at no extra cost. Needless to say, they didn't even bring their own tools or tape. I had a few tools that they had to borrow from me and then I had to have a neighbor bring over tools. They used all of my duct tape, my daughters designer tape and then I had to purchase more tape. I had to miss work because a move that was supposed to have been completed by a certain time took almost 3 times that. The movers had to make two trips due to not bringing a large enough truck. I had to pay for the time of travel during this time along with the time that the men decided to go have lunch. The owner refused to only charge me for two men since I only needed two due to my time being missed. I called the company several times after the move. They wouldn't answer. When going to move my items from storage I noticed that most of my items were very much damaged. I had a bedroom suit worth over $5000.00. The armoire has a hole in the bottom. Lots of pieces have chips in the wood. My living room suit had chips in the wood, some with chunks taken out of the wood. I had some antique furniture that was ruined. My wedding dress was balled up in between my coffee table and end table. All of this has been turned in to the company. The owner of this company is the rudest man that I have ever encountered. He has absolutely no customer service skills. He obviously doesn't know business management. If so, he would know that customer service is the key goal to having a successful business. One excuse he used was that I was just now contacting them several months later. Obviously they have caller ID because every time I called no one answered until after I involved the BBB. Only after turning in a claim to the BBB was I offered a settlement of $250.00. This was way more than the owner wanted to agree to. I totally would have taken him to court but due to other life circumstances I decided to just be done with this man. After waiting several weeks of closing out the BBB claim I still did not receive my payment. I had to open up the BBB claim again for nonpayment. Just yesterday I received my payment of $250. I just have to chalk this up as a lesson learned. Please don't make the same mistake as I. This man is crooked! I would have been better off buying moving blankets from Northern Tool and Equipment and hiring friends or going down to the homeless shelter and getting a couple of guys to move my items with a UHAUL. They would have taken care of my items better. If you can't trust people why does it matter where they come from? Don't judge a book by it's cover. Not even these people show up in a truck that's advertised on their home page.

Lousy service.

I chose this company based on price as I had little time to research.
I was promised an early morning time on a Saturday between 9 and 10. Two hours later they still weren't there.
I called Anthony at dispatch and he assured me they were on the way. At 12:05 the driver called me and said he was a half an hour away. At 1:05 still wasn't there. Called Anthony again, then the driver called me, He was at the delivery point and didn't even know where the pickup point was at. A total waste of time and energy!!

I cancelled the service and had to go find a UHaul truck to rent.

I wouldn't waste my time with this company, cause they sure will waste yours!!

Terrible Company.

This company is TERRIBLE! They sound so honest and professional on the phone when booking the move, but everything from there is awful. Like 1 reviewer stated, the hired help actually making the deliveries were very polite and professional. However, the way the goods were handled was awful. They ran their truck all in our new neighbors yard, for which I spent 3 hours repairing. They backed into our yard as well, creating a huge ditch. Almost every piece of furniture that we had was damaged in some way, shape, or form(dings, chips, etc..). Complete negligence. Our mattresses were supposed to be wrapped and were not, leaving them, not only dirty, but splintered and picked to pieces because of the junk truck that was used in which the truck box bottom was falling apart. Beds were missing assembly hardware and not reassembled well. Nice glassware was shattered in the boxes. We were missing a large area rug for which they said they had, but never shipped it. They actually charged us more than what they agreed to. We did leave one aspect open for negotiation, expecting a fair price, for which they absolutely gouged us!! After the move, we could not get anyone to answer the phones and respond to our problems. Like another person stated, a "0" Star would be a more appropriate grade. This company is a disgrace. Not sure how they stay in business without 1 good review. I should have checked their reviews before contracting with them.

Poor overall experience.

Didn't want to rate it as "Poor", as it was cheap and you get what you pay for. But I did anyways, due to my experiences with this guys. If you have items that are valuable to you I would suggest other companies. I had items missing, furniture damaged due to being mishandled. Items were damaged due to falls. Have requested reimbursement for repairs with no luck. Guys came late and unprepared, didn't bring sufficient white paper or boxes and ended up using those I retained from prior move. The entire move took way longer than expected and I've heard that as a complain from others who used this company. I need to mention, the insurance that is offered to you is a waste of money. Make sure you understand what it covers if you purchase it. Since I've written this review, Joseph Antony was in the process of issuing a reimbursement for the damages and I was promised a check next week. One month later, it is still coming next week. Company that makes in vain promises and bluntly lies to the customer is not the company I conduct business with.

Worst EVER!!

I was told that an 18-wheeler was coming to pack up my 5 bedroom/4 bathroom house. When the truck pulled up, it was a much smaller truck and I had a feeling everything would not fit. They were to have everything loaded on a Tuesday because we were closing the next day. They showed up 3 hours late (1pm) and were still loading stuff till 1:30am. All of my stuff did not fit and we were supposed to close on the house at 10am Wednesday. They said they would come back with another truck the next morning and get the rest. The buyers showed up the next morning to do a walkthrough and were surprised to see our stuff still in the house. They were ready to move their stuff in right after closing. We did not hear back from the company till noon. Long story short, we could not close at 10 and was able to talk them into still closing at 4:30. The moving company didn't show up till 630 and still took forever getting the remaining property. We were then told everything was to be delivered to our new home the next day (Thursday) between noon and 1pm. After several delays and no one communicating with us, our belongings showed up at the house at 1:30am and they were unloading it till 5:30am. This was the most unprofessional experience I have ever seen in my life. They dropped a huge mirror off the truck when loading and it shattered all over the street. Nothing about this was pleasant. The employees had no uniforms and it was a rented Budget truck. I almost didn't even let them touch my stuff but I had to be out of the house so we could travel back to close on the other house. .

Did good job on short notice.

I needed to do a quick move of my Mother's retirement home apartment to a storage facility. I called on Friday and scheduled the move for Tuesday. I was told to expect them between 8 and 10 AM, They showed about 10:15, which was close enough for me. They began working and did a good job or protecting items, although none of the items were valuable. Everything was wrapped in pads. The move was complete by 1:30. When we arrived at the storage facility the truck was too big to make the turn down the aisle to my unit, so I had to get a different unit, which was no big deal. Although I had given them an inventory of the items to be moved, which was not very much, they brought a truck much larger than was was necessary. Maybe better safe than sorry, but that caused the problem with the turn. I was planning to use a credit card for payment, but when the driver called for confirmation, he was told that their credit card machine was down so payment needed to be cash, money order, or a personal check. Since I did not bring my checkbook, I had to go to the bank and get a money order. Inconvenient, but no big deal. So it could have bee a little smoother, but overall I was satisfied with the result. The cost was exactly what I was quoted over the phone, but I was happy enough to throw in a tip for the two workers. I was really happy to get a mover on such short notice.
